Music Classes
Introduction
Music theory are held every Saturday morning. The classes are open to UMP students and staff. We provide classes for Grade 3 and Grade 5 ABRSM Music Theory exams.
The theory tutor is a professional music teacher based in Kuantan, Pahang. Practical classes are conducted by the performing UMPO members.
Education Policy
It has been the UMPO's policy to make it compulsory for all members to possess at least a Grade 3 theory qualification by ABRSM (Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music, London). The UMPO recognizes the need to provide the necessary knowledge for their members to enhance their musical skills & to promote commitment to learning music. The UMPO wants to create a generation of music-lovers with basic knowledge about music theory.
